Job summary

YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School in Philadelphia seeks a Building Substitute & Instructional Support Teacher to ensure continuity and high-quality learning across the academic and workforce programs. This full-time role provides day-to-day coverage and targeted instructional support.

The position requires a PA Teaching Certification, 3–5 years of teaching experience, and a strong focus on equity, relationships, and restorative instruction to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• PA Teaching Certification; Special Education experience a plus.
• 3–5 years’ teaching experience preferred.
• Content-area expertise aligned to YouthBuild’s needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day classroom coverage across academic and workforce sides.
• Maintain continuity of instruction, routines, and student progress during extended leaves.
• Plan and prepare lessons using provided curriculum and assess student work.
• Collaborate with Specialized Services and participate in IEP meetings as appropriate.
• Track student progress and communicate outcomes in PowerSchool.
