Job summary

Propel Northside School is seeking a Building Substitute Teacher for the 26-27 school year. The role covers day-to-day absences in the building and long-term leaves, with opportunities to act as the teacher of record, including lesson plans and full responsibilities during vacancies.

Qualified candidates hold PA teaching certification and bring strong instructional skills, classroom management, and the ability to differentiate instruction using data.

Qualifications

• Valid PA certification in corresponding content area that is being taught.
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills.

• Ability to develop rigorous lesson plans and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Cover day-to-day absences in the assigned building and long-term leaves.
• Act as teacher of record when covering long-term leaves, including lesson plans.
• Assist with permanent vacancies during the selection process.
• Deliver coherent instruction using prescribed unit and lesson structures.
• Develop and update learning resources and participate in professional development.
• Create a respectful instructional environment that promotes learning.
• Use varied instructional strategies to engage students.
• Assess student learning using formal and informal methods.
• Implement student IEPs as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and report progress.
