Job summary

ARAUCO in Bennettsville, SC is seeking a Flex/Utility Technician to help maintain safe operations and efficient production on the Raw Board Press and surrounding areas. You will operate forklifts and other equipment after training and participate in PMs and safety programs.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to move throughout the facility including stairs, and willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus.
• Must lift 50 lbs and stand for up to 12 hours daily.
• Experience operating forklifts and in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to move throughout the facility, including stairs and ladders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain housekeeping in the Raw Board Press and surrounding production areas, removing wood fiber, waste and potential hazards.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, floor sweepers, Guzzlers, skid steer loaders, manlifts, gas monitors and respirators after training.
• Follow all LOTO, confined space, fire safety, PPE, SOP and established safety procedures.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities (PMs).
• Support maintenance outages and assist contractors as needed, or serve as attendant during confined space work.
• Communicate area performance, equipment concerns and upset conditions with Control Room, Quality, Maintenance and Leadership teams.
• Create maintenance notifications for equipment issues and follow up to ensure work is completed.
• Participate in required safety programs and training, report incidents, and maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Assist with additional mill work as needed.
• Work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, chemicals and high temperatures.
