Sunstates Security is hiring Flex Security Officers in the Erlanger, KY area. All days and shifts are available, offering a pay rate of $18.50/hr with weekly pay.

Responsibilities include monitoring access, handling trucks and logs, conducting patrols, and maintaining documentation. Responsibilities

• Monitor and control facility access for employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers while enforcing site security procedures.
• Process inbound and outbound truck traffic, review Bills of Lading, verify appointments, and maintain gate logs.
• Inspect trailer seals, cargo areas, and inbound shipments for GMP and safety compliance.
• Verify visitor, contractor, and vehicle authorization and maintain sign-in/out records.
• Conduct security patrols of exterior doors, stairwells, lighting, and other critical areas.
• Document incidents, hazards, and maintenance issues via reporting systems.
• Maintain daily activity reports, pass-down logs, and visitor logs.
• Assist shipping, receiving, and dock operations and ensure adherence to site procedures.
• Maintain professional appearance and comply with company policies and safety requirements.

Sunstates Security is hiring Flex Security Officers in the Erlanger, Ky area. All days and shifts are available! These positions offer a pay rate of $18.50/hr, with weekly pay.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have good communication skills.
• Good customer service skills and professional appearance.
• One year of Security, Military or Law Enforcement experience preferred.
• Monitor and control facility access for employees, visitors, contractors, and commercial drivers while enforcing site security procedures.
• Process inbound and outbound truck traffic, including reviewing Bills of Lading (BOLs), verifying appointments, and maintaining accurate gate logs.
• Inspect trailer seals, cargo areas, and inbound shipments to ensure compliance with security, safety, and GMP standards.
• Verify visitor, contractor, and vehicle authorization while maintaining accurate sign-in/out records and access documentation.
• Conduct routine security patrols to inspect exterior doors, stairwells, lighting, and other critical facility areas for safety and security concerns.
• Document and report incidents, hazards, suspicious activity, equipment issues, and maintenance concerns through designated reporting systems.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, key control records, pass-down logs, visitor logs, and other site-specific documentation.
• Assist shipping, receiving, and dock operations by coordinating truck access, supporting dock personnel, and ensuring adherence to site procedures.
• Maintain a professional appearance, provide excellent customer service, and comply with all company policies, safety requirements, and uniform standards.
• Flex Officer Explanation
• The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.

Scheduling Expectations

The scheduling parameters and expectations for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex: You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.

Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.

You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.

Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.

You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you.

For short‑notice call‑ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
