Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Houston, TX. This role offers flexible shifts and the option to increase earnings by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will perform security procedures, patrols, and customer service at government facilities, with a fixed anchor shift and opportunities to grow into fuller schedules as needed.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public by carrying out security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and concerns in a calm, professional manner and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular/unarmed patrols of assigned government buildings, grounds, and parking areas.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting irregularities and maintaining documentation.
• Complete detailed incident reports and shift handoff communications.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Audit in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.38 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 10:00 AM - 05:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and public authorities as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and contractor activity in accordance with site‑specific procedures; report irregularities and maintain required documentation.
• Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
