Job summary

MedSpeed is hiring a Flex Medical Driver in Austin. The role requires open availability for swing/rotating routes, including weekends.

You will drive a company vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records and supplies, using a handheld scanner, and must maintain a professional image and safe driving standards. Qualifications

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Must be 19+ years old with an active driver’s license for 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with technology.
• Ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screen.
• Drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Must have an excellent driving history.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination depending on location and local mandates.
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Routes may vary; ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, and supplies in a company vehicle.
• Use a handheld scanner to track items through the transportation cycle.
• Observe operating policies, procedures and service schedules.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public.
• Load and unload items with appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean vehicle.
• Handle route duties across assigned routes as needed.
• Work as part of a collaborative MedSpeed team.
