You will work a steady 36-hour week on a flexible 12-hour schedule (three 12-hour shifts per week), with shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM or 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Weekly pay and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Job Title: Full-Time Flex/Float Healthcare Security Officer

Schedule: Steady 36 hours per week – changeable 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour
Location: Sharon, CT

Position Summary

The Full-Time Flex/Float Healthcare Security Officer provides professional security services across designated healthcare facilities. This role “floats” between units at the same site as needed, ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff while supporting the facility’s policies and procedures.

You will work a steady 36-hour week on a flexible 12-hour schedule (three 12-hour shifts per week), with start and end times are either 8:00 AM–8:00 PM or 8:00PM-8:00AM.

Assignment shifts and specific days will change based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety & Security
  • Patrol interior and exterior areas of the healthcare facility.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification, and enforce visitor and access control procedures.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and calls for service in a calm, professional manner.
  • Support staff with patient-related security needs, including de-escalation and safe intervention in accordance with site procedures and training.
• Customer Service & Professionalism
  • Provide a visible, professional security presence that reflects Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness
  • Offer clear, courteous assistance to patients, visitors, and staff (directions, escorts, information).
  • Document incidents, unusual activities, and safety concerns accurately and promptly.
• Flex/Float Duties
  • Adapt to different units, entrances, and posts within the healthcare facility
  • Learn and follow site-specific post orders and work instructions for each assignment
  • Support coverage needs including call-offs, high-volume periods, and special events.

Qualifications

• Previous security, military, law enforcement, or healthcare security experience preferred.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts (8:00 AM–8:00 PM or 8:00PM-8:00AM) on a steady 36-hour weekly schedule, with flexibility in days at one post in Sharon, CT.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or sensitive situations.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods and respond quickly in emergencies.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Meets all licensing, background, and medical requirements applicable to security work and healthcare environments in the local jurisdiction.
