Job summary

The City of Santa Clarita is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and routine maintenance on City vehicles, equipment, and hand-operated power tools. Under direction, you will assist in diagnostics and repair tasks and maintain accurate maintenance records.

You must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant experience, plus a valid California Class C driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in preventive maintenance and repairs of vehicles and equipment.
• Valid Class C California driver license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on City vehicles and equipment.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing vehicles and hand-operated power tools.
• Coordinate transport of City vehicles to outside contractors for servicing.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
• Assist with purchasing vehicle parts and maintaining records.
• Maintain and communicate vehicle maintenance records.
• Establish positive working relationships with City staff and the public.
