Job summary

Las Vegas Valley Water District seeks a Fleet Vehicle & Equipment Repair Technician I (LTE) to maintain and repair District vehicles and equipment in Ely, NV. This on-site limited-term role runs 6am-2:30pm, Mon-Fri, with CDL and ASE prefs.

The technician will diagnose using scan tools, perform welding and fabrication, and document work in the fleet system. A Class A CDL and related certifications are highly desirable; term up to 24 months.

Qualifications

• One year of journey-level experience in vehicle/equipment repair.
• Trade school training may substitute for experience.
• Class A CDL with HAZMAT and tanker endorsements desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair LVVWD fleet and equipment including light to heavy vehicles and construction equipment.
• Diagnose problems using scan tools and manufacturer software; estimate parts and labor.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections per manufacturer recommendations.
• Document work in fleet management system and test drive repaired equipment.
