Henkels & McCoy West is seeking a Fleet Upfitter in West Sacramento to install and customize fleet vehicles for operation, including lighting, shelving, and GPS systems.

The role demands mechanical skills, familiarity with 12V electrical systems, and the ability to read blueprints. Candidates should have 1–3 years of upfitting experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently or in a team setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training a plus.
• 1–3 years of experience in vehicle upfitting, automotive mechanics or related fields.
• Familiarity with 12V electrical systems, wiring and electronics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and modify equipment and accessories in fleet vehicles (e.g., lighting, ladder racks, shelving, decals, electronics).
• Interpret work orders, diagrams, and manufacturer instructions to perform accurate installations.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform inspections and quality control to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with installed equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of installations and services performed.
• Communicate with team members, supervisors, and vendors regarding parts, procedures, and timelines.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Assist in fleet maintenance as needed, including oil changes, tire rotations, and general vehicle prep.
• Assist Mechanics with Part pickups and drop offs
• Keep Fleet yard organized for better inventory
