Job summary

Sallee Horse Vans, Inc. in Lexington, KY is seeking a Fleet Trailer Mechanic to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of trailers, vans, and trucks. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and corrective repairs, including air brakes, tires, electrical systems, and gooseneck equipment.

Must have 1-2 years related experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen. CDL and welding experience are a plus; own tool set required.

Qualifications

• DOT physical and drug screen clearance required.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of airbrake systems.
• Minimum 1–2 years of related fleet maintenance experience.
• Class A CDL and welding experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on fleet equipment including trailers, vans, passenger vehicles, and gooseneck units.
• Perform corrective maintenance on brakes, tires, electrical systems, suspension, and air lines.
• Operate forklift and scissor lift as needed.
• Mount/dismount trailer tires and work in elevated areas.
• Complete FMCSA Federal Annual Inspections and maintain checklists.

# Fleet Trailer MechanicLexington, KY 40511## OverviewSalary Range$20.00 - $25.00## Description**SUMMARY** Perform duties as assigned by Supervisor in the preventive and corrective maintenance of fleet equipment. Assist in the fabrication and repair of fleet equipment.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance services on a variety of fleet equipment including trailers, box vans, passenger vehicles, gooseneck trailers, gooseneck trucks such as fluid/filter changes, lubrication/adjustments, inspections, etc.• Perform corrective maintenance services on a variety of fleet equipment including trailers, box vans, passenger vehicles, gooseneck trailers, gooseneck trucks such as air brakes, tires, electrical component troubleshooting and repair/replacement, air bag suspension systems, shocks, PSI systems, ABS systems, airline replacement/repair• Operate forklift and scissor lift • Utilize pneumatic air tools, hand tools, electric tools, hydraulic tools• Mount/dismount trailer tires• Work in elevated areas• Perform FMCSA Federal Annual Inspections• Fill out maintenance checklists, forms, decals• Drive company equipment to pick up parts and supplies• Other duties as directed by the Shop Supervisor**RESPONSIBILITIES**• Report to work as scheduled• Complete tasks as assigned• Must maintain a safe, drug and alcohol-free work environment**WORK ENVIRONMENT** Individuals are exposed to both indoor and outdoor elements.## Qualifications**QUALIFICATIONS** In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. May be required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of governmental agencies or professional and technical associations. Individual must be able to read and follow instructions, both verbal and written. Individual must be able to lift up to 100lbs.
