Job summary

Western Express is hiring a Tractor Technician to maintain and repair fleet vehicles with a focus on safety and reliability. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose complex systems, and use OEM platforms to troubleshoot issues across a nationwide fleet.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required; a CDL is a plus.
• Strong communication and listening skills; ability to convey information clearly.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate diagnostic software and related systems.
• Reliable attendance and ability to report for shifts.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to follow instructions, procedures, guidelines and information for daily tasks.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk and move for extended periods.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to providing drivers with safe, reliable trucks and equipment.
• Perform maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment per DOT regulations.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance to keep fleets in optimal condition.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair major vehicle systems (engines, transmissions, DEF, A/C, safety tech).
• Use OEM diagnostic platforms to identify issues and support training opportunities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and follow safety procedures.
