Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies seeks a Connectivity & Telematics specialist to investigate cross‑stack issues in production vehicles, analyzing fleet telemetry and logs to detect emerging problems and validate fixes in the field.

You will gate software releases with fleet data, build automated telemetry dashboards, and drive end‑to‑end root cause analysis with cross‑functional teams to ensure durable, field‑proven solutions.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in CS/CE/ECE or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years building, debugging, or operating software systems.
• Strong programming in Python and/or C/C++, reading/understanding embedded code.
• Knowledge of Linux fundamentals and multi‑layer systems.
• Experience with SQL and PySpark for large‑scale data analysis.
• Solid analytical reasoning and written communication skills.
• Experience with telemetry or log data analysis (PySpark/Databricks/Python).
• Exposure to embedded Linux internals and networking.
• Familiarity with CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LTE/cellular management.

Responsibilities

• Investigate cross‑stack issues spanning embedded Linux, networking, firmware, and cloud services on production vehicles.
• Analyze fleet telemetry and logs to detect issues, quantify impact, and validate fixes in the field.
• Gate software releases with fleet data and monitor health criteria for rollouts to 100,000+ vehicles.
• Build and maintain automated telemetry monitoring dashboards and alerts.
• Conduct end‑to‑end data driven root cause analysis and document findings.
• Perform on‑vehicle testing and diagnostics to reproduce and validate behavior.
• Collaborate with firmware, platform, cloud, and vendor teams to land durable fixes.
• Communicate findings in clear, investor‑readable investigation summaries.
