Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment on light-duty vehicles, trucks, tractors and trailers. This is a hands-on role for someone transitioning from automotive/mechanical work into fleet technology.

You'll travel to customer sites for mobile installations, document work with photos and notes, and stay focused on safety and quality while growing with

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in/on vehicles and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
