Job summary

Perdue Transportation Incorporated (PTI) is the transportation service and logistics provider for Perdue Foods, part of Perdue Farms. We are seeking a Fleet Technician to maintain and repair our fleet and support safety, reliability, and efficiency across operations.

The position offers a target wage of $21.00–$42.50 per hour, with annual bonus potential, and a competitive benefits package including medical/Rx, 401(k) with match after 1 year, and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• 1+ year mechanical repair or training.
• 3+ years fleet/heavy equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and service vehicle systems (brakes, air, electrical, hydraulics, driveline).
• Use shop computer systems and OEM diagnostic software to identify failures and plan repairs.
• Senior level: service engine emission systems, HVAC, welding or fabrication as needed.
• Complete work orders and evaluate repairs for DOT and company standards before release.
• Respond to road calls and perform emergency repairs.
• Senior technicians mentor Level I & II technicians and support repair strategy decisions.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and follow OSHA, EPA, DOT safety regulations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid Driver’s License

Minimum 1-year mechanical repair or training

Mechanical repair experience for Intermediate Level: Minimum 3 years direct fleet/heavy equipment experience

CDL Class A

ASE and/or OEM certifications

Tools

Mack diagnostic software

Volvo diagnostic software

International diagnostic software
