Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Fleet Technician to perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on fleet vehicles to ensure safe, roadworthy operation. You will handle registrations, inspections, and documentation while meeting DOT and regulatory standards.

We offer on-the-job training, a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime, and benefits including 401K with company match, health insurance, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred depending on experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• DOT regulatory requirements must be met.
• CDL is a strong plus for road tests and Class A vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic skills with GM drivability; diesel experience is a plus.
• Willingness to work overtime and perform road calls.
• 3–5 years of hands-on heavy-duty repair experience.
• Proficient with diagnostic software and basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all assigned vehicles are properly registered and compliant.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Perform corrective and predictive maintenance for DOT compliance.
• Maintain vehicle appearance per UniFirst branding and cleanliness standards.
• Keep the garage clean, organized, and safe; source parts and monitor pricing for repairs.
• Accurately track maintenance tasks using a CMMS.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by leadership.
