Job summary

Reyes Holdings in Chicago, IL seeks a Fleet Technician to inspect, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on fleet equipment. You will document work in the AssetWorks system and assist with diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools.

Applicants must have a GED, 2+ years related experience, own tools, and a valid CDL-appropriate license with an acceptable MVR. Willingness to lift heavy objects and comply with DOT/OSHA safety rules is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of related experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess own tools.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record per DOT regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
• Ability to frequently lift/push/pull weights over 50 lbs, up to 100 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and perform routine preventative maintenance on Fleet Equipment.
• Document repairs and maintenance in AssetWorks with parts used and work performed.
• Learn and assist diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Comply with DOT, OSHA and Reyes Fleet Management safety standards and use of PPE.
• Drive Reyes Family of Businesses and customer vehicles as required; maintain Driver Qualification file including MVR and DOT checks.
• Other projects or duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurately inspecting, repairing and completing routine preventative maintenance of Fleet Equipment, including standard component inspections and repairs.
• Complete necessary documentation for repairs and maintenance while maintaining accurate records of work performed, parts used, and repairs/inspections completed through the online AssetWorks system.
• Vehicles and Fleet Equipment.
• Learn and assist diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices.
• This position requires driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review.

• Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds
