Salary Range: $29.00 Hourly

The Fleet Technician supports fleet operations by performing proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and preventive maintenance programs. This role ensures the safety, reliability, and cost-effective operation of all fleet equipment in accordance with the direction of the Regional Fleet Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair yard trucks, reefer trailers, and company vehicles, including brakes, front-end components, engines, and related electrical systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all vehicles, including greasing, oil changes, filter changes, hose and belt replacements, lights, and electrical systems.
  • Organize and track inventory of parts required for preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor, review, and track tire conditions and issues on all trucks and trailers.
  • Ensure drivers properly maintain and keep equipment clean.
  • Respond to driver inquiries regarding vehicle and equipment concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain fueling systems and ensure adequate amount of fuel and DEF onsite.
  • Keep the shop area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assist with maintaining the database of truck and trailer issues.
  • Document and report damages, repairs, and maintenance schedules to management regularly.
  • Provide support to other departments as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a fleet mechanic role, demonstrating competency in similar duties.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work requires significant attention to detail in safety, record keeping, logging, and inspections.
