Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on a wide range of company vehicles and equipment.

You will diagnose issues, follow safety and DOT/FMCSA regulations, document work orders, and mentor junior techs. This role requires strong electrical and HVAC knowledge, plus the ability to work outdoors and adapt to non-traditional hours.

Qualifications

• 2-year heavy/medium-duty truck technical training
• High school diploma or GED required
• CDL preferred, not required
• Experience with preventive maintenance and repairs
• Proficient in electrical and HVAC systems
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Conduct annual FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, HVAC and other systems.
• Document all work orders and mentor junior technicians.
• May supervise when Fleet Manager is unavailable.
• Operate electrical meters and welding tools.
• Work outdoors and travel to other sites as required.
