Job summary

Volunteer Fleet Services in Murfreesboro, TN is hiring an experienced diesel mechanic to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and keep fleets on the road. You’ll work on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers, with a focus on thorough diagnostics before part replacement.

The role offers up to $45/hr based on experience, a $1,000 sign-on bonus, Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM, minimum 40 hours with overtime, and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k),

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of diesel repair experience in a shop.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel DDL, Isuzu IDSS, Ford ForScan.
• Experience on diesel, gas, air brakes, PTOs, A/C work.
• Own basic tools; the shop provides many specialty tools.
• Valid driver’s license and high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform repairs on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Thoroughly diagnose issues before replacing parts and perform preventive maintenance.
• Handle DOT inspections and related regulatory checks.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and repair equipment to restore vehicle functionality.

Veteran-owned and locally operated fleet repair shop.We’re hiring an experienced diesel mechanic who can diagnose problems, make repairs, and keep equipment on the road. Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Ford, Chevrolet, Isuzu, Hino—we wrench on them all.

THE JOB

You’ll work on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers, handling everything from routine maintenance to diagnostics and major repairs. We aren't just a part swapping shop. We thoroughly diagnose the issue before replacing parts. We need someone who can troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, repair engines (gas and diesel), perform preventive maintenance, and handle DOT inspections. We are a fleet repair shop, therefore, we see a wide verity of platforms and vehicles.

WHAT YOU NEED

• At least 3 years of diesel repair experience in a shop
• Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with one or more of the following: Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel DDL, Isuzu IDSS, Ford ForScan,
• Experience working on diesel, gas, air brakes, PTOs, A/C work
• Your own basic tools; we have a wide variety of speciality shop tools.
• Valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent

ASE certifications, OEM training, DOT inspection experience, a CDL, and 608/609 MVAC certifications are a plus, but strong hands-on experience matters.
