Job summary

TOTE Maritime Alaska in Tacoma, WA seeks an Equipment Control Manager to lead fleet strategy, budgeting, and vendor relations. You will steer fleet size, mix, utilization, and capital planning to maximize asset performance and service reliability.

As a leader, you will develop teams, forecast demand with cross-functional partners, and manage budgets for owned and leased trailing equipment. Base salary ranges with bonus potential and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, shipping, or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage department employees in accordance with policies and laws.
• Oversee hiring, training, and performance management.
• Conduct performance appraisals and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and Pricing to forecast demand.
• Develop and maintain fleet plans for availability and utilization.
• Prepare operating and capital budgets for equipment.
• Manage vendor relationships to support objectives.
• Maintain accountability for owned and leased trailing equipment.
• Establish operating parameters for fleet performance and cost control.
• Support growth and development of department staff.
