Job summary

The Southwest Florida Water Management District in Tampa is offering a Fleet Services Student Intern position. You will assist in maintaining a clean workspace, clean and service District pool vehicles, and support basic repairs and maintenance on vehicles and equipment.

This on-site internship requires a high school diploma or equivalent, current enrollment in a college program, a minimum GPA, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
• GPA: min 2.5 undergrad, 3.0 grad.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly workspace within the Tampa Fleet shop.
• Clean District pool vehicles, including interior and exterior upkeep.
• Support repairs and basic maintenance on District vehicles and equipment.
• Order parts and supplies needed for various Fleet projects.
• Track parts/supply usage to support accurate recordkeeping.
• Complete required paperwork associated with repairs and maintenance activities.
• Maintain tracking/documentation of completed repairs.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or other recognized educational or vocational program

Minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate or 3.0 for graduate

Valid driver’s license
