Job summary

St. Johns River Water Management District seeks a Mechanic / Senior Trades Worker to perform skilled maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment at the Palm Bay Service Center.

The role includes diagnostics, repairs, welding, and equipment testing to ensure safe operations. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and four years’ experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and four years of work experience as described or formal education substituting for experience.
• Must have a valid Florida Class A Commercial Driver License with Tanker N endorsement or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and services on fleet vehicles and equipment at Palm Bay Service Center.
• Analyze, repair, and evaluate engine, electrical, hydraulic issues and operate testing equipment; maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Fabricate and weld metal on vehicles and equipment as required.
