Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a Fleet Safety Specialist to provide field support and ensure adherence to FMCSA and company policies across field operations and jobsites. The role includes audits, coaching, incident investigations, and training using Samsara and Samba Safety to identify at-risk behaviors and implement corrective actions.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in safety and health, 3–10+ years in construction fleet safety, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety and health or equivalent.
• 3–10+ years of construction fleet safety experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain Driver Qualification files and verify credentials.
• Review Driver Support System and coach on safe driving habits.
• Identify compliance gaps and develop mitigation strategies.
• Conduct fleet safety audits, inspections and safety conversations.
• Develop fleet safety communications and update on regulatory changes.
• Assist incident documentation, investigation and reporting; coach for corrective actions.
• Lead on-scene or virtual accident investigations and determine root causes.
• Identify training needs and organize DOT/FMCSA safety training.
