Job summary

Carolina Casualty (a Berkley Company) seeks an experienced transportation safety professional to provide risk management and safety services for trucking fleets. Travel will be up to 60% within a multi-state territory as you conduct visits, analyze data, and deliver concise underwriting reports to support pricing decisions.

You will educate partners on risk control products, develop loss-reduction strategies, and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements for the transportation industry.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years transportation safety experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience required.
  • CDS certification preferred.
  • ARM, CSP or ASP designation preferred.
  • Up to 60% travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide risk management and safety services to trucking fleets; ability to travel at least 60% within a multi-state territory.
  • Conduct periodic consultative visits to prospective and current clients.
  • Analyze information provided by potential insureds and provide underwriting with clear, concise and timely reports to assist with decisions on pricing and acceptability of a given account.
  • Analyze loss information to identify root causes and develop loss-sensitive recommendations for clients to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of their account.
  • Provide education and training necessary to keep business partners current with risk control products and services as well as current industry standards.
  • Share best practices with clients.
  • Take initiative to keep business partners informed of emerging account issues.
  • Conduct or assist with marketing presentations to clients, agents, or outside groups.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with underwriting and internal service teams, agents/business partners, and client base.
  • Create client satisfaction by demonstrating the value of risk control/safety services and responding to client needs.
  • Develop and document success stories relating to measurable reductions in loss frequency and/or severity.
  • Solicit client feedback to improve overall service.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the regulatory environment (state/federal rules and regulations) pertaining to the transportation industry; exhibit desire to continue education in transportation field.
  • Maintain active involvement in local, state and national trucking associations/truck shows.
  • Demonstrate effective planning, expense and cost control skills.
  • Display a positive image in the marketplace with all clients, including agency contacts; maintain a positive, professional appearance.
  • Exhibit a high level of expertise, leadership skills, and professionalism.
  • Maintain a good driving record.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
