Job summary

Fresh Express is seeking a Transportation Safety/Fleet Manager in Columbia, SC to oversee the safety and maintenance program for our fleet. You will ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance, coordinate driver training, and supervise maintenance activities to keep equipment in top condition.

The role requires 2+ years of fleet DOT experience, supervisory skills, and strong knowledge of regulations. You will work with the Transportation Manager and drive continuous improvement in safety and operational

Qualifications

2+ years of experience maintaining Fleet DOT compliance.
Working knowledge of FMCSA Driver Regulations.
Working knowledge of FMCSA maintenance regulations.
Minimum of one-year supervisory experience, strongly preferred.
Bachelor's/Associate degree plus 2-4 years of transportation experience, or equivalent detail.

Responsibilities

Deliver and/or oversee yearly safety training for all CDL drivers.
Coordinate all CDL drivers onboarding assuring compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.
Oversee truck/trailer maintenance, including onsite maintenance team and offsite repairs.
Monitor the vehicle maintenance program to ensure compliance with FMCSR and applicable laws.
Conduct accident/incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
Train and enforce company policies and procedures including DOT, OSHA, and food safety.
