Job summary

Lumbermen’s, an employee-owned distributor and manufacturer, seeks a Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily operations and lead drivers in the upper Midwest region. Based near Wisconsin/Minnesota, you will optimize routes, ensure on-time deliveries, and maintain safety standards in a dynamic, family‑driven environment.

You’ll coach drivers, monitor performance, and partner with maintenance and operations to enable efficient service and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of transportation, fleet, logistics, or distribution experience preferred.
• Prior fleet management or driver supervision experience strongly preferred.
• CDL Class A with current medical card, or ability to obtain and maintain credentials.
• Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and transportation safety requirements preferred.
• Experience with ELD systems and electronic logs preferred.
• Experience with fleet maintenance, routing, and transportation scheduling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily transportation operations.
• Develop and optimize delivery routes.
• Coordinate fleet activities with operations, warehouse, and customer service.
• Monitor on-time delivery, driver productivity, and service levels.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, Hours of Service and regulations.
• Coach, support, and develop drivers.
• Assist with recruiting and onboarding transportation personnel.
• Maintain transportation records and documentation.
• Investigate transportation issues and safety incidents.
• Drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
• Respond to off-shift transportation issues when necessary.
