Job summary

The Salvation Army in Hawaii is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead a team of drivers, plan efficient routes, and ensure fleet safety and regulatory compliance. You will mentor beneficiaries and coordinate with multiple departments to deliver goods on time.

Responsibilities include supervising drivers, maintaining records, controlling transportation costs, and enforcing safety standards across DOT and TSA requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR.
• Must pass TSA driver and safety training series.
• Background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate others.
• Effective verbal and written communication with staff, beneficiaries, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Monitor driver performance and transportation operations to identify improvements.
• Manage transportation costs while maintaining service levels.
• Maintain records for driver logs, vehicle inspections, and delivery records.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Resolve transportation-related issues during delivery or pickup.
• Assist HR with hiring driver positions and training requirements.
• Prepare weekly work schedules within budgeted hours and ensure payroll accuracy.
• Oversee training and supervision of Drivers/Material Handlers and beneficiaries assigned to transportation.
• Plan and optimize route schedules for efficiency.
• Maintain DOT and driver files to comply with laws and regulations.
• Ensure TSA safety standards for trucks and trailers.
