Job summary

UNFI, the leading distributor of conventional, natural, organic, and specialty products in the United States and Canada, is hiring a Fleet Refrigeration Technician in Richburg, SC. The role focuses on complex repairs of tractors, trailers, and yard tractors, with preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure reliable fleet operations.

The position emphasizes diagnosing air and hydraulic brake systems (including ABS), electrical diagnostics, liftgate work, driveline and suspension

Qualifications

• 2 years of mechanical experience or technical training; preferred 1 year experience.
• Must have all necessary hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license; 21+ years old.
• Certifications in tire/wheel, brakes, HVAC, FHWA DOT inspections preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and general repairs to tractors, trailers, and yard tractors.
• Diagnose and repair air and hydraulic brake systems, including ABS.
• Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs on fleet equipment.
• Repair liftgate systems and fabricate as needed.
• Diagnose drivelines, steering, and suspensions.
• Maintain repair orders and time entries in the maintenance program.
• Charge parts to repair orders and manage tire/wheel end maintenance.
• Assist and mentor junior mechanics.
