Job summary

Pipe View America in Chicago is seeking a Fleet Assistant to help keep our mobile fleet safe, well-documented, and operational. You will monitor weekly inspection reports, update vehicle and equipment inventories, and assist with in-house repairs, ensuring smooth transport to repair sites.

This role blends mechanical aptitude with administrative duties, requires a valid driver’s license and DOT card, and involves interaction with field crews and vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge required.
• 2+ years of mechanical repair a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License and DOT card (or ability to obtain a DOT card).
• Basic computer skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and act upon weekly vehicle and equipment inspection reports.
• Update databases and inventory for vehicle and equipment repairs.
• Help facilitate in house repairs.
• Transport vehicles or equipment to and from repair locations & job sites.
• Monitor stocking inventory levels.
• Distribute supplies for field crews.
• Assist in placing new vehicles into service and removing old vehicles from service.
• Liaison with our vendors.
• Fast paced work environment with rapidly changing demands.
