Job summary

Saddle Creek Logistics Services is hiring a Transportation Manager to oversee all fleet operations and day-to-day execution of field plans in Harrisburg, NC. The role drives route optimization, asset utilization, safety, and on-time performance while meeting budgets and customer commitments.

You will lead multiple supervisors, coach drivers, ensure plan viability, and collaborate with sales and brokers to minimize empty miles. Strong analytical and systems skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (High School Diploma or GED Required)
• Minimum of 3-5 years of Transportation experience supervising drivers in a truckload or LTL environment
• Ability to build credible relationships with customers, drivers and lead in a dynamic, fast-paced, hands-on environment and to build effective teams
• Demonstrated analytical ability, attention to detail, and strong computer skills preferably with transportation and warehouse management systems

Responsibilities

• Oversee fleet operations and day-to-day execution of operational plans for fleet management
• Coach, train, and mentor direct reports for personal growth and career development
• Manage driver assignments, dispatching, and performance feedback
• Develop contingency plans for absenteeism or last-minute requirements
• Drive Lean Six Sigma projects to streamline efficiencies and reduce costs
• Coordinate with sales, brokers and planning to reduce empty miles
• Ensure accurate billing, payroll and DOT compliance
• Maintain communication with warehouses and other locations for service requests

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred
