Job summary

Avis Budget Group Inc. is seeking a Fleet Manager in Washington, DC to lead the fleet operations and lifecycle management for the region.

You will collaborate with vendors, supply chain and operations teams to ensure vehicles are safe, clean, and available to deliver an exceptional member experience. The ideal candidate has 4–5 years of fleet/operations management experience, a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and strong negotiation, budgeting, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years operations management or fleet management experience (preferably in rental/car share).
• Experience in coordinating fleet lifecycle, vendor contracts, and KPI tracking.
• Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and confidentiality are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead fleet operations and regional fleet lifecycle management.
• Manage vendor contracts, repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness standards.
• Oversee budgeting, invoicing, and cost controls aligned to market budgets.
• Hire, train, and develop fleet management staff; drive performance reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize vehicle utilization.
