Job summary

Stevens Transport is seeking a Fleet Manager to supervise inbound and outbound activities for a long-haul driver fleet. You will ensure safe, on-time delivery and act as a coach and advocate for drivers across multiple divisions and regions.

Lead with data-driven decisions and uphold DOT compliance while driving engagement and performance. You will manage scheduling, driver development, and communications with customers and internal teams to optimize utilization and service quality.

Qualifications

• Experience managing inbound/outbound drivers and fleet operations.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong communication and safety/regulatory awareness.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with drivers and divisions.
• Engage drivers to support career growth and retention.
• Review daily pickup/delivery schedules to ensure adequate hours of service.
• Inform drivers of customer and company expectations with freight assignments.
• Route drivers for home time and secure equipment at locations.
• Motivate drivers to hit KPIs like utilization, safety, and service.
• Counsel drivers for DOT compliance and re-train as needed.
• Communicate service disruptions to internal teams to keep deliveries on time.
• Provide leadership and support to assigned drivers.
• Provide real-time data to load planning and tracking systems.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
