Job summary

SAIC is seeking a TACNET CB-ISEA Network Engineer (Fleet Support) to join our team in Norfolk, VA. This hybrid-remote role requires frequent onsite support aboard U.S. Navy ships and coordination with Active Duty personnel and government staff to maintain Navy afloat networks.

The position involves patching cybersecurity vulnerabilities, break/fix IT support, root cause analysis, and providing timely briefings. Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally, with occasional after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience, or a Master’s and 1+ years; 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 1+ years of experience supporting military network environments relevant to the listed responsibilities.
• Administration experience with Cisco switches/routers, Windows Server, or Linux.
• Working knowledge of core networking concepts and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide patching and remediation of cybersecurity vulnerabilities to ensure Navy afloat network integrity.
• Provide break/fix IT support in a shipboard environment and troubleshoot LAN issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend permanent configuration or system changes.
• Deliver server and network break/fix support, including remote troubleshooting of servers, networks, desktops, and peripherals.
• Participate in technical meetings, prepare progress updates, and deliver briefs and presentations.
