Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Sr. Fleet Mechanic to maintain a diesel fleet. You will independently troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild and repair diesel equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and mentor shop personnel. Must have 5 years of hands-on experience, own tools, and read manuals. Valid driver’s license and EPA/OSHA compliance required.

Position is onsite at Livermore facility with a strong safety culture and competitive benefits including retention bonus and tool allowance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
  • Must furnish own personal hand tools.
  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations in the shop.
  • Read and understand technical/service manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills with team and drivers.
  • Valid driver's license and computer/software literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete repairs on diesel equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
  • Mentor other maintenance staff.
  • Receive road calls, coordinate with vendors and partners for action plans.
  • Document repairs and parts used in fleet software.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment according to rules.
