Job summary

Etna Supply in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a skilled Vehicle/Equipment Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, inspect vehicles, and manage parts inventory across multiple branch sites.

The role requires a high school diploma, 5+ years of experience in vehicle repair, and familiarity with DOT/FMCSA/OSHA regulations. CDL-A preferred; travel to branches may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in vehicle/equipment repair preferred.
• Minimum five years of vehicle/equipment repair and maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations is essential.
• CDL A license is preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company vehicles and fleet equipment (semis, trucks, cars, hi-los) to ensure safe operation.
• Provide exceptional service and foster positive customer experiences.
• Diagnose, repair, and rebuild vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct thorough inspections and preventive maintenance routines.
• Sustain accurate records and organized workspaces; manage parts inventory.
• Travel to other branches for onsite repairs as required; coordinate with external service vendors.
• Retain DOT certifications and comply with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA regulations.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and strong safety focus.
