Job summary

Etna Supply in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a skilled Vehicle/Equipment Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, inspect vehicles, and manage parts inventory across multiple branch sites.

The role requires a high school diploma, 5+ years of experience in vehicle repair, and familiarity with DOT/FMCSA/OSHA regulations. CDL-A preferred; travel to branches may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in vehicle/equipment repair preferred.
• Minimum five years of vehicle/equipment repair and maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations is essential.
• CDL A license is preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

This position requires performing skilled maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and fleet equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and adherence to DOT and OSHA standards. Duties include issue diagnosis, routine inspections, preventive maintenance, record-keeping, inventory control, and occasional travel to branch sites. • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stress management skills.
• Basic mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• CDL A license, preferred

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; or
• Minimum of five years' experience in vehicle/equipment repair and maintenance; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
