Ohio County Schools is hiring a Vehicle Mechanic II at the Central Office in Beaver Dam, KY. You will maintain and repair school buses and district vehicles, including gas and diesel systems, engines, transmissions and brakes.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of automotive repair experience, and a Kentucky CDL with a school bus certificate. ASE coursework is encouraged; reports to the Head Mechanic/Director of Transportation.

Competenze

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Two years experience in general automotive repair is required.
• Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver’s License and school bus certificate.
• Course work toward ASE Certification is desired.

Mansioni

• Disassemble and repair motors and related components; recondition ignition and carburetor systems.
• Perform major mechanical repairs on school buses and diesel/gas-powered equipment; overhaul transmissions and brakes.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical defects; perform road service as needed.
• Read schematics, repair manuals and parts catalogs; maintain maintenance records and time/materials.
• Ensure safety standards and conform to district vehicle maintenance policies.
