Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED as required by Kentucky law; one year experience for Mechanic I.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repair work on school buses and other gas- or diesel-powered equipment.
• Inspect and diagnose mechanical defects and drive/test buses; provide emergency road service.
• Repair and replace ignition, carburetor parts, and related electrical/fuel system components.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and a variety of power/hand tools safely.
• Maintain maintenance records and complete work orders; ensure compliance with safety standards.
