Job summary
Dollar General is seeking an experienced diesel fleet maintenance technician to ensure all trucks, trailers and yard tractors operate safely and stay compliant with federal standards. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty equipment, performing PMs, and supporting drivers with vehicle issues.
Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of diesel repair experience, strong knowledge of FMCSA guidelines, and proficiency with air, hydraulic and electrical systems, plus trailer
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Diesel Maintenance Repair experience.
- Broad knowledge of fleet maintenance policies and FMCSA standards.
- Ability to work unsupervised and make decisions as needed.
- Experience working with air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Proficient with trailer maintenance software.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency in inspecting, repairing and diagnosing diesel engines and power train components with assistance as needed.
- Perform electrical system repairs, cooling system maintenance and complete vehicle diagnosis.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tractor and trailer equipment and complete repair orders.
- Carry out maintenance repairs to maximize safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
- Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
- Safely operate gauges, forklifts, torches and power tools; conduct DOT inspections and compliancy.
