Job summary

Goodwill of Colorado is seeking a Mechanic I, Fleet Maintenance - External in Colorado Springs. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing vehicles to OEM specs, with a strong emphasis on customer service and safety.

You will inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles, perform preventive maintenance, and communicate effectively with coworkers and customers. A CDL-B or the ability to obtain one is required within the first year, and the position offers comprehensive benefits and a daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred; trade school certificate preferred.
• ASE Certifications or plan to excel in the automotive field.
• Section 609 Certification not required but will need to be obtained within the first year for HVAC repairs.
• Four (4) years in vehicle maintenance; two (2) years’ experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems.
• Must possess or obtain a Class B Colorado CDL and have a current medical examination card.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles while delivering an excellent customer experience.
• Inspect and repair to OEM specifications; explain diagnoses to customers and coworkers.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and coordinate with the lead mechanic.
• Maintain organized, safe work areas and communicate customer concerns to management.
• Assist in driving fleet maintenance scheduling and record keeping.
