Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to service and repair the FE fleet, including heavy trucks, cars, trailers and field equipment. The role requires the ability to work safely, perform diagnostics, and provide emergency road repairs with a readiness for storm restoration duties.

The candidate should have two years of Automotive/Diesel trade school or five years of recent full‑time fleet mechanic experience, plus knowledge of hydraulic systems and vehicle diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Two years of Automotive/Diesel Mechanic trade school or five years of recent full‑time experience as a fleet mechanic.
• Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods is preferred.
• Class A CDL is preferred; after six months, it is required.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect, maintain, and repair the FE fleet, including heavy trucks, cars, trailers, and field equipment.
• Provide emergency road repairs, towing, ferrying, and equipment demonstrations.
• Perform storm restoration duties and be willing to stay out of town and work extended hours, including holidays.
• Prepare accurate records and reports, in writing and electronically.
