Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. seeks a skilled automotive/mechanical technician for Jersey Central Power & Light in New Jersey. You will install, test, maintain, and repair automotive, hydraulic, and electrical equipment, inspect engines and brakes, and ensure safe operation of power and transit systems.

You will diagnose malfunctions, perform repairs, and document results; must have four+ years of experience, ASE certifications, and a Class B license (Class A within 12 months).

Qualifications

• Four years of diversified experience in maintenance and repair of automotive vehicles and equipment, including hydraulic and ASE certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, drawings, blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and technical specifications.
• Awareness of safety practices; capable of training others and ensuring quality work.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of automotive, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
• Overhaul, inspect, repair, test, and replace components including engines, brakes, and transmissions.
• Diagnose mechanical and operational issues and perform necessary repairs and road tests.
