Job summary

MYR Group Inc. is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to perform maintenance, preventive servicing, and repairs on diverse equipment. You will support the Fleet Department, perform diagnostics, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while delivering reliable service for internal customers.

You will mentor junior mechanics, document time and materials, and help uphold safety standards while supporting company objectives and helping advance to higher levels within the Fleet team.

Qualifications

• Vocational/technical program or apprenticeship in vehicle and equipment repair OR 1 year of heavy truck/auto/equipment repair experience.
• Must be able to operate company vehicles daily and have a valid license.
• Must be 18+ and have HS diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Fleet Mechanic II requires 3 years of repair experience OR 2 years post-program with 1 year extra, etc.
• Fleet Mechanic III requires 4 years repair OR 5 years heavy repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repairs on equipment following manufacturer guidelines and schedules.
• Maintain records of time, materials, and repairs performed.
• Identify mechanical problems visually or with diagnostic equipment.
• Mentor and oversee less experienced mechanics.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with DOT/OSHA/ EPA rules.
