Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation seeks a Fleet Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy and light vehicles and EVs across our fleet.

The role reports to a shift supervisor, requires experience with varied equipment, welding, emissions testing as needed, and mentoring trainees.

You will maintain shop records, use diagnostic tools, and pursue EV training to keep our municipal fleet running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years in maintenance of passenger vehicles, trucks, and EVs.
• Experience with heavy, light, and off-road equipment.
• Must own hand tools to complete duties.
• Must obtain or possess state CDL Class A license.
• May require ASE certifications.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy and light equipment.
• Service EVs and acquire EV training.
• Inspect safety, perform welding, and fabricate as needed.
• Maintain shop records and use diagnostic tools.
• Mentor Fleet Mechanic trainees.
• Perform emissions tests if required.
