Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation seeks a Fleet Mechanic to perform skilled diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy and light vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs). The role reports to the shift supervisor and requires a broad knowledge of automotive systems and welding.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems, replacing components, servicing and welding as needed, and maintaining accurate shop records.

Qualifications

• Four to six years' experience in operation, repair, overhaul and general maintenance of passenger vehicles, light and heavy trucks and EVs.
• Knowledge of automotive mechanics equipment, tools, and welding trades; able to diagnose and correct defects across light, heavy, and EV equipment.
• Must possess all necessary hand tools and, if required, ASE certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance on heavy and light vehicles and EVs as assigned.
• Inspect and service equipment, engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, hydraulics, electrics, and cooling systems.
• Instruct and mentor trainees; maintain shop records and input data into the computer.
