Job summary

Country Fresh Dairy is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform the majority of required vehicle maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision. The role involves diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic problems, mentoring FMT-1 technicians, and ensuring safety and quality standards across daily tasks.

The position is 1st shift in Grand Rapids, MI. A High School Diploma and 2 years of hands-on experience are required, with CDL-A and mechanic certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy- and medium-duty equipment.
• Mechanic certifications and CDL-A preferred.
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach, and crawl for virtually the entire shift.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is required.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with drivers to properly determine root cause of complaint once assigned a task.
• Performs preventive maintenance and facility maintenance duties, uses shop management system and other electronic systems per guidelines.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools and acts as mentor for younger technicians.
• Maintain equipment to desired performance levels.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner maintaining high quality standards.
• Keep management informed of safety, operator and equipment observations and concerns.
• Perform prescribed Preventative Maintenance and follow SOPs.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Report food safety and food quality issues to management immediately.
