Job summary

Midwest Drywall Co Inc in Wichita, KS seeks a dependable Mechanic – Commercial Construction to maintain our fleet vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will perform preventative maintenance and assist with repairs to keep operations on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Interest in diesel mechanics or fleet maintenance.
• Willingness to learn mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools and shop equipment safely.
• Able to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repair of company trucks, trailers, forklifts, and construction equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance services including oil and filter changes, fluid checks and replacements, greasing, tire inspections, rotations and replacements.
• Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics under supervision.
• Help inspect vehicles and equipment for operational and safety concerns.
• Support repair work involving diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
• Assist with welding, fabrication, or minor repair work as needed.
• Maintain shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and work areas in clean and safe working condition.
• Stage parts, tools, and materials for scheduled repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Assist with documenting maintenance activities, inspections, and repair records.
