Responsibilities
  • Primary responsible for the repair and maintenance of all company vehicles.
  • Complete repairs, adjustments and preventative maintenance service and checks on company vehicles in accordance with prescribed PM policies and procedures.
  • Accurate record keeping of all services and repairs completed.
  • Alert the Maintenance Manager for any suspected or confirmed abuse of company vehicles/equipment.
  • Determine if reported failures are the result of improper operation by crew members, material defects, normal wear, or other causes.
  • Facility and ground maintenance as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Complete preventative maintenance checks and services on all vehicles.
  • Diagnosis and repair of brake systems, electrical systems, power train, and air conditioning/heating systems.
  • Respond to road calls as needed.
  • Remain abreast of changes and trends in the industry.
  • Accept other associated responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair and maintenance of automotive and mechanical equipment, including gasoline and diesel engines.
  • Ability to locate, correct, and adjust defects in complex automotive and mechanical equipment; perform skilled work in repairing, overhauling, and maintaining gas and diesel powered vehicles.
  • Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
  • Good driving record, valid driver’s license, and ability to strictly adhere to established safety policies and guidelines.
  • Two (2) years of confirmed experience as a mechanic, or one (1) year of confirmed experience after successful completion of an industry‑recognised trade school or college.
  • Strong background in electrical, air conditioning, heating, braking, and power train systems, including diagnosis and repair.
  • Certification for procurement/purchasing of refrigerant gases and oils for air‑conditioning systems.
  • Must furnish own tools.
  • Must be available 24 hours a day.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to use a variety of office equipment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use a variety of tools and machinery.
  • Ability to perform various physically intensive tasks.
  • No back or other physical disability that would prevent lifting and carrying heavy weight.
  • Quick reflexes and superior safe driving ability.
  • No medical history or conditions that would interfere with safe operation of motor vehicle or automotive repair machinery.
