Description
Job Overview

Atlanta Basement Systems is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of 20 SUVs, 10 trucks, and several diesel trucks. The ideal candidate will have expertise in preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure our vehicles remain in peak condition for daily operations. This role requires a hands-on professional who can work efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with safety and industry regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on gas and diesel-powered fleet vehicles, including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and alignments.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a variety of vehicles, including diesel trucks.
  • Maintain accurate service records and schedule preventative maintenance to reduce vehicle downtime.
  • Conduct emergency repairs as needed to keep the fleet operational.
  • Ensure all fleet vehicles meet DOT (Department of Transportation) and safety compliance standards.
  • Work with fleet management to report major repairs, order necessary parts, and recommend vehicle replacements or upgrades.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess vehicle issues and performance.
  • Perform road tests to confirm repairs and troubleshoot potential problems.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the fleet maintenance area.
  • Stay up to date with the latest automotive technology, industry regulations, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a fleet mechanic, automotive technician, or diesel mechanic.
  • Certifications (Preferred but Not Required): ASE Certification, Diesel Mechanic Certification, DOT Inspection Certification.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and diagnostics.
  • License: Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in varying conditions, and stand for extended periods.
  • Work Ethic: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
